Immigration & Nationality
The work of the Immigration and Nationality team includes a large amount of appeal work before the Immigration Appellate Authority, Immigration Adjudicator and Immigration Appeals Tribunal. The team represented the appellant in the landmark case of “The Queen Ex-parte Harris” at the Court of Appeal, where the court declared illegal the government’s practice of denying re-entry into the UK to persons with indefinite leave to remain who had been convicted by UK courts of criminal offences.
The team also advises corporate clients on immigration for businessmen, including advice in connection with living and working in the UK, Work Permits, Expatriate Quota, Training and Work Experience Permits, family visas for company executives working in the UK.
Our team liaises with the European Union, Home Office and Department for Education and Employment on rules of European Union nationals, Nationality and Naturalisation, Setting up in business and investor rules in the EU. As a result we are up to date with relevant changes to policies, procedures and rules.
